Dreams of Satie
Dreams of Satie began with my longtime love for the peaceful, floating quality of Erik Satie’s Gymnopédie No. 1.
While feeling nostalgic and thinking back on younger days, that gentle harmonic world came to mind, and I began improvising a melody while trying to stay inside that reflective feeling.
The piece is written in 4/4 rather than Satie’s 3/4 — a small way of honoring the influence without trying to copy it. The result is a quiet, dreamlike piano piece that feels both familiar and personal.
This sheet music follows the recorded version from my YouTube channel and is intended for personal playing, reflection, and enjoyment.
